Snow Day
Most of the big snow storms missed us this year by going just to the north or just to the south. Now that it's March and the days are longer, most of us are tired of the cold and ready for spring. Heck, my tulips are starting to come up! But last night we got one of those rare wet and heavy snow storms that made for some pretty pictures this morning. As I write this, the temps have been above freezing for almost 8 hours and with the sunshine it's melting fast.
But my kid got the day off from school and I got a two-hour delay so I could sleep in. I'll take it.
Such beautiful pictures! I'm jealous. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Leslie! It was all melted off the trees so fast. The pretty part didn't last long.
DeleteMy folks are north of you and they were kind of relieved to miss out on this one. Early March isn't so bad - but I always found the late March / early April snow storms soooooo demoralizing! Don't miss those at all!
ReplyDeleteAnother friend from up north told me she was also relieved. And I get it. There comes a point where you just want to be done with the snow. Only for some reason we never got started around here this year.
DeletePretty pictures! We expected snow and ice ALLLLLL Day on WEdnesday. It was pretty funny how we got nothing. Then woke up on Thursday to views just like yours above. We really thought the forecasters cried wolf on us. Ha! The good thing about the snow we got on Thursday was that it looked so pretty on the trees and lawns,... but barely stuck to the roadways here so travel was still fairly safe. Then less than 24 hrs later and it was practically all gone! I like a good snow day.. but now I'm ready for SPRING! I'm tired of seeing gray and brown everywhere I look. lol!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! We had a warm, sunny day on Saturday and that was it. I was officially done with winter. Unfortunately it's not done with us. But that's March. Such a cruel month.
